Leasing as a payment method
- a WooCommerce order is created
- stock, revenue and statistics are affected
- leases that don't go ahead must be canceled
- provider-specific details are often missing
Veriado Leasing keeps leasing requests cleanly separate from the regular WooCommerce checkout: with their own records, provider-specific forms, dedicated emails and a central admin area.
In Germany, employee bike leasing (Dienstrad) runs through providers such as JobRad or BusinessBike. Many stores implement it technically like a normal payment method. When a customer selects leasing, WooCommerce creates a regular order – although no purchase has taken place yet. Whether the lease is concluded is decided later by the employer and the leasing provider.
If the lease does not go ahead, an order is left behind that has to be canceled. The consequences run through the entire business:
When a customer chooses employee bike leasing, no WooCommerce order is created. Instead, the plugin creates a separate record. Your store's regular order logic stays completely separate.
Customers still find leasing where they expect it – only the result is different: a request instead of an order.
Leasing requests no longer end up as regular WooCommerce orders. Revenue, order statistics and processes stay clean.
Nothing booked as a purchase has to be canceled when a lease doesn't go ahead.
Every leasing provider needs different details. The plugin asks for exactly the data each provider requires.
Customers are guided step by step and get help texts for provider-specific details such as codes and certificate numbers.
Customers can clearly see that they are submitting a non-binding leasing request, not placing an order.
Providers, requests, emails, privacy and reservations in one place in WordPress.
Direct API connections to leasing providers can be added later without rebuilding the core system.
The leasing entry point sits in the cart and is clearly separated from the purchase path.
The customer's contact details.
Choice of provider, employer details and provider-specific fields.
A selection per provider – or a transparent note that the employer defines the services.
Delivery address and leasing details, shipping costs shown separately.
All details at a glance, confirmation of the notices, only then is it sent.
The customer is clearly told: non-binding leasing request, no order, no purchase contract, no charge.
After submitting, a dedicated confirmation page appears and the customer receives a confirmation email with the request number.
Shipping costs are shown separately and not included in the leasing amount.
A VAT ID for the lease can be captured separately. The field is tax-neutral and doesn't change WooCommerce's tax logic.
Progress is saved. If the session expires, the cart stays as it was.
In the store, the steps are shown to customers in German.
Each provider can be enabled or disabled individually. Your customers only see the providers you work with.
Help texts explain each field. Service and protection options are also stored per provider – the way each provider handles them.
Leasing requests get their own WordPress menu item (“Leasing-Anfragen”) – separate from WooCommerce orders.

Optionally, the requested bike is reserved while the request is open. The feature is configurable and can stay switched off.
Every new leasing request triggers a WordPress hook. It can be used to hand the record over to an external inventory or ERP system. A reference integration exists with Tridata.
How much work the connection takes depends on your system – not every ERP is supported without adjustments. We're happy to check this with you.
Provider APIs: the plugin is prepared for direct API connections to leasing providers, and a module for a direct JobRad connection is structurally in place. Currently, leasing requests are not transferred automatically via API to JobRad or other providers – they are handed over internally or by email.
The WooCommerce Blocks checkout has not yet been fully tested. Customers with a delivery address outside Germany see a notice and can buy the bike normally.
Personal data in the leasing flow is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM).
Leasing requests are connected to WordPress “Export personal data” and “Erase personal data”; erasure requests anonymize the record.
Periods for automatic cleanup are configurable. By default nothing is deleted automatically – you set the periods yourself.
Leasing requests are stored in your WordPress installation. Only what you set up via email or interface is passed on.
The plugin was developed at fahrradshop24.com and has been live there since September 30, 2026. The starting point was exactly the problem described above: the previous leasing process ran through a payment method and created regular WooCommerce orders.
